Only Trusting In God Can Keep Me From Freaking Out

Right now my life is crazy. Mostly in good, kids and church, sort of ways. But sometimes I go to bed feeling like the guy in the comic below. I’ve got so much to do and never enough time to do it. What can keep me from having a grand ol’ freak out session? Isaiah 26:3-4 helps me out…

You keep him in perfect peace?whose mind is stayed on you,?because he trusts in you.?Trust in the LORD forever,?for the LORD GOD is an everlasting rock.?You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD GOD is an everlasting rock.

The way to get perfect peace is NOT by carving out more hours in the day. It’s by fixing my mind on God, who is the only one who always gets his to-do list completed. God doesn’t want me to carry the burden myself. I’m supposed to cast it on him.

Such a humble reminder that as much as I try I will never get all the stuff done.. My life the past few days were exactly like the comic strip..Just last night i stayed up late finishing my pending office work :(

Like you said more than adding in few more hours to my already extended day, I need to trust the Lord. I can be in perfect peace only if my mind is stayed on Him. Thank you Stephen for the bringing out the truth in humour :D

PS. Just finished read your book the Greener Grass Conspiracy. Was Blessed :D

What a timely reminder. Some of my days recently have modeled that comic, sadly. There was a period when I clung to those very verses, but somehow they have slipped my mind recently. So I really appreciate the reminder. :) "…but seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble (so trust God and put to death that anxiety!)" — wise & true words from Jesus, plus a little summary at the end

What a perfect reminder to put my trust in God for all things! That comic perfectly captures my thought cycle for the past week!

    Thanks for your exhortation, Stephen!

Funny comic. You know you can complete all your work when you not only trust God but also prepare mentally yourself for it. Say to yourself every morning that yes i will complete all my work today and trust me you will actually complete your work. I am telling you this because it has worked for me and will surely work for you too.
