Starting your own blog has NEVER been easier. Here’s how to get started in UNDER 10 minutes.

You’re a photographer. A poet. A writer. A songwriter. A painter. You’ve got a story you want to tell, but you aren’t sure how to tell it. It’s time to set up your blog.
I’m convinced that everyone has a killer blog in them. Why? Because everyone has a wonderful story to share. When people think about blogging, they usually assume that no one cares what they have to say. Nonsense! Why do we spend so much time on social media? Because we love to hear other people’s thoughts, ideas, and stories.
If you want your blog to look good, you probably want to use a self-hosted blog. That’s how I do it, and that’s how many other bloggers do it. Now, don’t panic. Setting up a self-hosted blog is super, super, super easy, thanks to Bluehost hosting. Plus, it only costs $3.95 per mont.
STEP #1 – The first step is to select your plan. Select the “STARTER” plan:
STEP #2 – Next, you need to select your domain name. The domain name is what people type to get to your website. For example, people type “www.theblazingcenter.com” to get to this website. Select your domain name by typing it into the “New Domain” window.
STEP #3 – Select the “Starter 36 Month Package” (or less months if you want to pay more per month).
STEP #4 – Once you sign up, you’ll have access to something called the “cPanel”. Stay calm! This is not intimidating people. The first time you see it, you’ll get a message like this:
Click “i can do it”, because that’s how tough you are. Scroll down until you see the “One Click Installs” inside the “Mojo Marketplace”.
Now select “WordPress”
Select your domain name. If you want the blog to be the first thing people see, select your main domain name (like – www.theblazingcenter.com)
Click “Install” and you are DONE!
Okay, that was super simple.
Once it has finished the installation it will give you a confirmation screen showing you your unique WordPress login URL that will look like this:
Save this info!
This URL is where you go when you want to write posts, change WordPress themes, etc. You can forget about the Blue Host area for most blogging.
STEP #5 – Login, change your theme, and GET BLOGGING!
To change your theme, find “Appearances” in the left sidebar and then then click “Themes”. You’ll see a couple themes laid out in front of you, plus a big “+” sign, which lets you add a new theme.
Click on the “+” sign to get started with a new theme. Once you are here, use the search function to find a theme that you really like. There are thousands and thousands of themes to choose from, so you’ll certainly be able to find one that really fits your style.
Once you have a theme, click “Install Now” to install the theme. You are ready to rumble!
