Sometimes we get so caught up in the mundane, every day, plain-to-see moments in life, that we forget about how incredible it is to be a Christian.
The realities of being a Christian and being united with Christ are some of the most breathtaking, world-shaking realities that exist. The challenge is, we can’t see them with our eyes. This is why Paul constantly prays that God would help the Ephesians see:
…having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might… (Ephesians 1:18-19)
We have been called out of a dark, hopeless world, to an incredible, unshakable hope. Millions of people do not have this hope, but we do. We have been lifted from the gutter of sin and given a glorious inheritance in Christ together with all the saints. And, the immeasurable greatness of God’s power is towards us all the time. In our strength and in our weakness, God’s immeasurable power is with us and for us.
Doesn’t that encourage you? Today, let’s ask God to help us really see the incredible realities that are ours. If you’re discouraged, ask for eyes to see. If you’re weary, ask for eyes to see. If you’re bored, ask for eyes to see. We have hope, riches, and power in Christ. We just need to see it.
