Perfect Peace – Scripture Memory Song of the Week: Isaiah 26:3-4

We live in an uncertain world, and when you think about it, we have very little control over our lives.

We can be tempted at every turn to be anxious and fearful: for our children, for our finances, for our nation, for our church, for our health. The list goes on and on. How do we find peace and rest? Isaiah tells us:

You keep him in perfect peace
whose mind is stayed on you,
because he trusts in you.
Trust in the LORD forever,
for the LORD GOD is an everlasting rock. Isaiah 26:3-4

It’s not easy to keep our minds stayed on the Lord. Sometimes it’s a fight and we need to remind ourselves again and again to trust in the Lord. But when we do, when we fight this fight, the Lord will keep us in peace, as he promises. We don’t keep ourselves in peace, the Lord does. Our job is to fight to keep our minds stayed on the Lord and not distracted by the temptations to fear that we face. That’s why this Scripture is SO important and so helpful.  To help you memorize it, here it is set to music:

Write it on a 3×5 card, download it, listen to it every day this week, write it on a 3×5 card, say it out loud a few times every day, and before long, you’ll have it memorized.
