Our True Source of Joy – Scripture Memory Song of the Week: Habakkuk 3:17-18

So often we don’t experience the joy of our faith because we look to the wrong things. We look to this world, to success, or pleasure or recognition or any number of things. But ultimately our true joy and satisfaction comes from our God. That’s why I love these verses. They remind me to look to Jesus for my joy. To look to the God of my salvation. Because if God saved me at the cost of his Son’s blood, then surely he will take care of me and give me joy this world can never give. Here are the verses:

Though the fig tree should not blossom,
nor fruit be on the vines,
the produce of the olive fail
and the fields yield no food,
the flock be cut off from the fold
and there be no herd in the stalls,
yet I will rejoice in the LORD;
I will take joy in the God of my salvation. Habakkuk 3:17-18
